Book recommendation

Just finished reading this book the other day. It is GREAT! And I'm going to try to get Henry to read the other one she wrote with her husband called "For Men Only".

Dinner with a friend

I just got back from having dinner with Christian!!! The last time we had seen each other was my wedding! Since then, he's gotten married, had a little girl, and has another baby on the way. He is driving from Florida to NYC. It was so great to see him again and catch up with each other. Can't believe it's been almost 7 years. I had to ask someone to take a picture as proof that he was really here. I'm actually hoping he will be able to stop again on his way back (this time with his wife and daughter--they're flying up then driving back with him).

great timesaver

Found this on someone else's blog and had to share it here. Go to www.bloglines.com and you can set it up so that all the blogs you check regularly are listed at this one site and it tells you which blogs, if any, have anything new. That way you don't have to go to each one individually only to find out there's nothing new! I love it.

Going too far

I had a customer come into the office yesterday. He was a very elderly man w/ a cane and had 2 girls with him (turns out they were probably his grandkids). What he was asking for was something that took the manager a few minutes to find. We only have 2 chairs in the little reception area and the girls had already sat down when I told him it would probably be a little while. So he told one of the girls to move and let him sit down. Understandable. The girl got up but was all pouty and complaining that her sister got to sit. That man took his cane and struck her right on the side of her leg!!! I could not believe it. I was just so shocked. The poor girl tried not to cry but of course did. And he basically told her in the gruffest way possible to change her attitude. Like I told my co-workers, I agree she needed to straighten up and I don't have a problem with spanking but right there in an office and with a CANE!!! And he didn't get her backside but the side/back of her leg!

Here's a question for you.......

My closest friend here had me over for lasagna last night. As she was preparing it we were talking and somehow the subject of churches came up. She's not a Christian by the way....her parents were hippies to the T and so she was raised with little structure as far as religion/God. So she said that she can't believe that if you really and truly with your whole heart believe in something and it turns out you were wrong that you go to hell. She thinks because you made an effort to believe, that you deserve credit for that. I didn't know how to respond, I think partly because my brain was fried from work all day and partly because with her religion is just not something she wants to talk about. So it totally took me by surprise. My question is what would you have said??

Cabinet

I ordered a cabinet for more storage and orginization. It was delivered this week. Thank goodness I had it delivered because it weighed 130+ lbs. No way I could have gotten it up to the 3rd floor. It was hard enough moving it 5 ft! A lot of hard work to put it all together....I think I spent 3-4 hrs doing it but it's finally done! Here's the finish product.
